New $250 Visa Integrity Fee and How It Impacts Work Visas?
Starting in fiscal year 2025 (effective July 4, 2025), the U.S. has introduced a mandatory $250 Visa Integrity Fee on nearly all non-immigrant visa categories—this includes work (H‑1B) visas, J exchange visas, student (F/M) visas, and B‑1/B‑2 visitor visas.
Under the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act," the fee is not waivable or refundable except under strict conditions, such as early departure within five days of visa expiry or lawful status adjustment. It will be indexed to inflation annually starting in 2026
